This idea came to me and needed to paint it up. A simple thought of a molcajete crushing ice. the ancient tool used for grinding masa, herbs, and spices. Seeing my grandma making salsas for the fam, a symbol of tradition. A molcajete is not just for cooking; it is the heartbeat of heritage, heavy with history in Mexican culture. i wish abolishing ice was as easy as crushing it. 
 
This cornball managed to turn the military/ simple-minded citizens into domestic terrorist. Devastating communities, people fear for their lives, ripping families apart. This country was built on the backs of Native, African, Latino, Asian people on stolen land.
 
the Molcojete—a simple tool tied to heritage, culture, and survival. As a Latino artist, I created this work to confront the dehumanization of immigrants and the cruelty of an administration that treats human lives as disposable. The crushed ice represents the collapse of cold authority when faced with truth, empathy, and resistance. I stand against the unethical and terrorizing treatment of those seeking hope, reminding us that humanity cannot be frozen or erased.
