This piece portrays a block of ice shaped like an ICE agent’s head being shaved by a raspador—a simple tool tied to labor, resilience, and survival. As a Latino artist, I created this work to confront the dehumanization of immigrants and the cruelty of an administration that treats human lives as disposable. The shaved ice represents the collapse of cold authority when faced with truth, empathy, and resistance. I stand against the unethical and terrorizing treatment of those seeking hope, reminding us that humanity cannot be frozen or erased.
